WiMAC is ProdataKey’s proprietary wireless communication protocol, designed to bring flexibility and efficiency to access control installations. By adding a WiMAC module to any PDK Red controller board, installers can enable seamless plug-and-play wireless communication between devices.
Prior to setting up a system with WiMAC wireless communication, PDK experts recommend that integrators run a wireless range test to ensure that all devices will be able to communicate effectively. The updated WiMAC range testing tool from ProdataKey, available at wimac-tool.pdk.io, ensures that wireless performance can be confidently validated before permanent installation, helping reduce guesswork and callbacks.
With this update, installers and partners can run range tests directly from any Chromium-based web browser. This allows users to perform tests quickly and conveniently. During the test, users receive live feedback on signal strength as they test equipment in potential installation locations. Results are displayed in an easy-to-understand format, including color indicators that directly reflect signal strength.
