As a company centered around partner fanaticism, ProdataKey (PDK) is always listening to feedback from our dealers and end-users, and turning that feedback into constant improvements. This attentiveness to our partners’ wants and needs has directly resulted in multiple impactful innovations, like the most recent update of PDK.io.
PDK.io is an award-winning access control software that allows ProdataKey users to perform all their necessary security management functions–and it just got even better.
“We’ve spent over 10 months talking about pages, interactions, and designs that need to be built to make this user interface (UI) all that we want it to be,”
explains Couper Sorenson, Senior Product Manager at PDK. As of today, the re-vamped PDK.io is available for every 2.0 system to use–so let’s take a look at some of the major changes that have taken this access control software to the next level.
Access Control Software Designed to Streamline Workflows
The new PDK.io user interface has been optimized to help users streamline their workflows and navigate through the software with ease. A major catalyst for these improvements is the introduction of a drawer navigation system.

Rather than being redirected to a brand new page, drawer navigation allows your intended page to pop up on the side of the screen. This makes it easier for users to remain in place and continue with their management tasks without the need to navigate to distinct areas of the interface.
“You can clearly see that the workflows are much more linear, and they allow you to stay in context. You're not jumping around to different screens or losing where you were at. You can easily stay within the work that you’re doing.”

ProdataKey has also introduced some advanced search functionalities in this update, making it easier than ever for users to search for items within a singular customer account or across multiple customer accounts at the same time. Additionally, the new user interface is now capable of processing and loading pages at a speed 90% faster than the previous interface. This notable increase in speed and performance helps users to carry out their necessary management tasks with greater ease, and without running into significant pain points.
Highlighting Access Control Integrations

As experts in access control, we’re always passionate about collaborating with other security providers to allow our users to create turnkey integrated access control systems. With 28 PDK.io 2.0 integrations and counting, integrations have become an important tool for many PDK partners. Previously, the Integrations tab resided within the System Settings page. But with this brand-new interface, Integrations have been placed front and center on the Customer Dashboard.
“We get requests for all kinds of integrations and new integration partners, and we’ve reached a point where putting them two or three clicks down in the UI was no longer justifiable,” Couper adds. By relocating the Integrations page to the default screen that customers see when managing a system, PDK encourages dealers to become informed on what integrations are available and how integrations can elevate an access control system.
Customizing Your Software for Access Control
On top of various updates to extend and improve the security management functions of PDK.io, ProdataKey’s developers also prioritized the introduction of customizable features. Couper explains the purpose behind creating features that let users designate how they view their system:
“The software that allows you to work the way you want to work is the best kind of software to interact with.”

In the re-vamped PDK.io, users can elect to view items in a list mode, rather than the default card mode. These different options not only provide users with some agency in how they manage their access, but they also facilitate better management structures for large, growing companies.

“If you want to work in a card view, it's available and it's familiar. But if you're using a system at scale and you have lots of entities and management tasks that you need to juggle, a list view is really handy,” explains Couper. In addition to the list/card view, ProdataKey has also introduced the highly requested dark mode, allowing customers to use PDK.io in a color scheme that reduces eye strain.
“The new PDK.io 2.0 UI brings a modern, sleek, and professional appearance to access management while maintaining the visually intuitive user-friendly experience PDK is known for,”
remarks Eric Pearson of Per Mar Security Services, a Beta tester of the new interface. Through these exciting updates, customers can benefit from a user interface that has been crafted to guarantee the best possible experience for them.
The New PDK.io User Interface: Elevating Access Control Software
This update to PDK.io has introduced countless new features and improvements that allow dealers and end-users to take their access management to new heights. With the ability to maintain stable workflows, customize appearance features, utilize high-performance software, and so much more, we are ecstatic for our dealers to explore the new PDK.io.
