The ProConnect Roadshow is a unique series of partner appreciation and education events hosted by ProdataKey (PDK), bringing together security professionals from all across the United States. On August 21st, the Roadshow made its way to Utah–the home of PDK. Vendors and dealers excitedly gathered in the idyllic venue of Wheeler Farm, where the event unfolded amidst the scenery of manicured greenery, historic buildings, and Utah’s notorious Rocky Mountains.

PDK’s Hands-On Access Control Training
Upon arrival, guests were given a custom badge printed by BadgePass–an exciting new integration partner of ProdataKey. Jason Thomas of BadgePass explains why this collaboration enhanced the event: “It’s always easier to show rather than tell, right? So it was awesome to highlight our integration by printing all of the badges before the show. And even better: for people who arrived who weren’t registered beforehand, we could print them a badge on-site.” Once they received their badges, attendees took their seats for a day of training, networking, and learning.
The event kicked off with a hands-on training session led by PDK’s Training and Event Manager, Cole Nebeker. Attendees were provided with training kits, complete with all the tools necessary to install a PDK Red Reader. As the training progressed, the room came alive with flashing green lights–indicators of successful installations. By the end of the session, dealers were able to work together to successfully configure a 47 door system.
This training was useful in both deepening the existing knowledge of PDK installers as well as providing an easy-to-follow introduction to the hardware and software for dealers who were unfamiliar with the product. “It was really fun to play with the PDK stuff,” Ryan Dingnam of Groove Technology Solutions remarked. “I’ve seen the hardware before, but I’ve never worked on it or installed it. I learned a lot today!”
Some attendees were even squeezing in the training session between installs, eager to take advantage of this unmatched learning opportunity. “We have a job site we need to go to by noon, but we really wanted to come do the hands-on training and learn how to set the system up,” said Taylor Wahlstrom of WireTech. “Getting that hands-on training and actually being walked through everything by someone who knows the product and how to troubleshoot it was really cool.”
By the end, participants walked away with practical knowledge they could immediately apply in the field–whether they were seasoned installers looking to sharpen their expertise or first-time users eager to get familiar with the system.
Highlighting PDK’s Integration Partners
Following the hands-on training, dealers were invited to attend sessions hosted by Digital Watchdog, Della, ASSA ABLOY, OpenEye, Savance, MyDoorView, System Surveyor, Camect, and Best Truck Parking. These sessions included live demos and in-depth presentations highlighting the various ways that PDK’s access control works hand-in-hand with these third party tools.
“The sessions have been really interesting!” said Todd Anderson of WireTech. For him, the presentation from Della was a particular highlight: “Smart home technology is a big thing for us, so it was cool to hear more about how that can integrate with PDK.” Some presentations even included sneak peaks at upcoming products–giving PDK’s dealer partners the inside scoop on first-of-their-kind products from integration partners.
Encouraging Connection in the Security Expo
As the sessions were underway, attendees were also welcome to wander through the expo area, where they could speak face-to-face with vendors. PDK was excited to welcome twenty vendors to Salt Lake City’s ProConnect–a mixture of integration and distribution partners.
For Aaron Fonsbech and the team at Beazer Lock & Key, the expo was the highlight of the event. “We’ve been able to talk to vendors and figure out how they integrate with PDK. And we’ve been rather pleased with all the integration systems shown here today!” Attendees happily shook hands, shared personal stories, and expanded their knowledge thanks to the awesome vendors that attended the event.
Integration and distribution partners were satisfied with the ability to get to know ProdataKey’s dealers and build promising connections. “I feel like we’re getting a lot of great face time with the clientele here,” said Brad Kenning of Camect, providers of an advanced smart camera hub.
“Ultimately, that kind of face-to-face interaction leads to the strongest partnerships.”

The expo set the stage for valuable networking and connection, allowing integrators, manufacturers, and distributors to get to know each other and unite in a shared mission to create the best security systems possible.
The ProConnect Roadshow: A Day of Fun, Learning, and Collaboration
The event concluded with a raffle and a trip to a gun range, where dealers and vendors were able to test their skills, have fun, and celebrate after a packed day of learning and networking. After all, the ProConnect Roadshow in Salt Lake City was more than just a showcase of products and training–it was a celebration of community. And as the sun set over mountains, attendees left not only with new insights and skills, but also with stronger relationships and a sense of excitement for the future of access control.
